Re:Nylon

Prada and National Geographic produced a series "What We Carry", the video series that showcases the revolutionary process used to create the Re:Nylon bags. Recycled nylon
Recycled nylon has its drawbacks. It's not biodegradable, and will sit for decades in landfills or in the oceans until it breaks down into smaller particles which can harm wildlife. The fabric can also shed microplastics after washing. However, it uses 50 percent less energy to produce compared to regular virgin nylon and is more durable than other bag fabrics like cotton or wool.
The fabric is constructed from an amalgamation of petroleum and waste plastic, which is produced by burning fossil fuels. This helps reduce the need for more natural resources as well as the carbon emissions from the production of virgin nylon. It is also easier to handle than other bag materials, as it doesn't need to be dyed or weaved. This makes it an excellent option for bags frequently used, like yoga or gym gear.
Recycled nylon is more durable and flexible than cotton or polyester that are both traditional fabrics.
